The Bulls travel to Glanford Park for the second time hoping for a first game there in twelve years on Tuesday.
After the aborted January trip, the Bulls will hope for a better result than their last visit to Glanford Park, a 5-1 mauling in January 1997. Since then the two sides have met twice at Edgar Street in the Football League Trophy, and September's League meeting, with the Bulls winning both Trophy games.
The Irons were cautious following their relegation from the Championship, and were regarded as nothing more than mid-table filler pre-season. With some bloke called Hooper up front they've averaged two goals a game at home, but they've conceded only one less than the Bulls at the back otherwise they'd probably be running away with the League by now.
The Bulls loss to Scunthorpe in September hammered home the disappointment of the summer's transfer failings. Gary Hooper's goal in that match was akin to Jim Bowen saying 'come and have a look at what you could have won'. The Bulls front pairing that day, Nick Chadwick and Bradley Hudson-Odoi, have both been carted off to lower ranked sides while Hooper is now considered to be worth at least four times what the Irons paid for him. And that's the Bullseye.
Scunthorpe United vs Hereford United, Glanford Park, Tuesday 17th March, 7.30pm.
