Laws to Referee at Scunthorpe

Graham Laws is set to referee tomorrow evening's League One match between Scunthorpe and Hereford United.

Laws started refereeing in 1987 and graduated through the Northern Alliance and Northern Leagues before promotion to the National List of assistant referees in 1992 and the referees list in 1994.

The Bulls have already met up with Laws this season. The Tyne and Wear based official took charge of the away game at Elland Road last September when the Bulls were defeated by Leeds United 1-0. He booked both Stephen O'Leary and Karl Broadhurst that day.

They did meet up with him a second time as it was Laws' who took the decision to postpone the originally scheduled game between the two clubs last January.

"They've had covers on the pitch for the vast majority of the week but the temperatures have plummeted today," said Laws at the time.

"There's a small bit of the pitch which is frozen solid and I've looked at the weather forecast, it's minus one at the time of speaking, and the temperatures have been forecast to drop even further.

"It's quite an easy decision to make in the end because it would be unsafe for the players if we tried to play today."

To date this campaign Laws have been in charge of 28 games and given out 54 yellow and 3 red cards.
