Hereford set to sign midfielder

Tate Campbell is set to sign for Hereford after being released by Birmingham City, according to reports from BirminghamLive

Campbell - who can play across the back-line or in midfield - was one of the players released by Blues at the end of last season following the club's relegation to League One. The 22-year-old didn't make an appearance for Blues last term but he did feature four times for the club's first team.

Bulls chairman Chris Ammonds said he and Paul Caddis had decided to answer no comment in tonight's fans forum - but the boss was faced with speculation.

His time in the senior set-up was hampered by hamstring injuries and Campbell has considered quitting football. The midfielder will play on a part-time basis for National League North side Hereford next season.

Speaking during a recent appearance on the Keep Right On Podcast, Campbell said: "Going forward I'm still deciding whether I want to carry on playing football with the injuries and how it's gone. If I am going to play it will maybe be at a part-time capacity just to get back enjoying it.

"You never know, if I drop down to a level that's too easy for me I could shoot back up into the league. But for now I want to focus on other things, going into business and things like that. I will potentially play part-time if it's right for me. If not, I will leave the football there and crack on with life."
