A determined 10-man Hereford comfortably beat Radcliffe 3-0 to claim their second National League North win of the season so far.
Keziah Martin’s first half corner was dropped over the line by keeper Tom Donaghy, as the Bulls dominated possession and created good chances - with Cawley Cox, Luke Spokes and Harry Tustin going close. While Radcliffe had two chances narrowly wide, the Bulls had them pegged back in their half for large swathes of the first 45.
After the break, the Bulls continue to keep up the pressure but found themselves down to 10 men when Kam Kandola was given a shocking straight red. Despite the referee initially getting a yellow after the late challenge, it became a red after a melee ensued in front of the dugouts.
Theo Richardson reacted quickly at full stretch to deny Brad Jackson’s diagonal shot, but the Bulls kept the visitors largely at bay.
Aaron Downes actually opted for a 4-3-2 formation with the introduction of Danny Waldron and the gamble paid off as fellow sub Harrison Iwunze double his side’s lead after hitting Radcliffe with a counter attack.
Deep into stoppage time after two Radcliffe corner and with 10-men behind the ball, a lightning break from Billy Philips saw him add a third after a sterling solo run the length of the field.
