Paul Caddis has been named Manager of the Week |
Hereford manager Paul Caddis has been named FA Cup Manager of the Week by the Vanarama National League.
The Bulls appointed the rookie manager last April, quickly sending shockwaves through the side as he told most players they'd be leaving before the last game of the season.
After a woeful 5-0 defeat at Blyth Spartans under caretaker boos Yan Klukowski, Caddis's rebuilding of the squad started.
And while the season got off to a shaky start, Caddis worked quickly to make changes. That included bringing in the experienced former Football League players Jordan Lyden and Paul Downing.
They're now both tied down to contracts for the rest of the season, and fans are also eagerly awaiting to see more from strikers Andy Williams and Jason Cowley when they return from injury. They are still some way off though.
Midfielder Lyden and centre-back Downing added to an already promising squad, with keeper Curtis Pond already making the Vanarama FA Cup Team of the Week and picking up the Man of the Match award at Edgar Street for his match-winning saves. The injured Andy Williams watches on as Adam Livingstone takes a throw-in
Announcing Caddis as Manager of the Week, Vanarama said: "It's safe to say Hereford have Emirates FA Cup pedigree.
"The Bulls can now add Saturday's win over Rochdale to their list of memorable moments!"
Caddis also received praise for writing an open letter to supporters thanking them after the 1-0 win.
The Bulls now face Gillingham in the first round proper next month, having already beaten Anstey Nomads, Cambridge City and Rochdale.
