Finances, Blackfriars And Leases.

In a video interview posted by the club this afternoon, Hereford chairman Jon Hale spoke about finances of the club, the Blackfriars End and the length of the lease amidst other topics.

"There's been committments on the financial side that we've had to make," said Hale.

"Attendances last season weren't great, lots of reasons for that,

"Finances can always be improved and we're not going to say we've got lots of money because we haven't.

"We are very aware that we need to build up the reserves again because over the last three or four years there has been money spent. But there's no reason why we can't do that and look to the future and being aware of things like promotion and how we might finance that.

"There are the conversations we are having at board level to make sure we are ready."

The Blackfriars End.

"All I can say is that I make contact recently with the council and will be having a meeting with them, hopefully in the next couple of months, where we've got some ideas, hopefully they've got some ideas.

"We need to make some movement on it. There have been too many false dawns.

"Interestingly when we did the recent supporter questionaire a number of people said they would love to see something happen at that end. We agree with that, we want to see something to happen but we're almost at the start of the process again because certain ideas the council had previously haven't come to fruition, it might be a case of us saying well how about this."

How long has the lease on Edgar Street got left?

"It might be seven and a half years.

"I would like to see that lease twenty five years plus because we could tap into funding, there's a lot of ground maintenance to do here which is going to cost money over a period of time.

"With seven and a half years left we can't tap into those funding pots but there might be funding pots we can dip into for the Blackfriars, certain projects we might have there.

"All things are open at the moment, we look at every angle but conversations are always happening. We're aware of some challenges ahead but a lot of it goes back to the length of the lease.

"I think the council will understand but we need to get something on paper."
