"First half was a bit scappy from both teams," said Willets.
"It wasn't a great game first half.
"But second half we started absolutely horrendously, went 1-0 down, but after that it seemed it had kicked us in the backside a little bit and that's when we started to find our feet and started playing a lot better football.
"We started to find gaps in beyond their defence, the sending off helped and the penalty at the end certainly helped.
"We should have won by more but sometimes we've just got to grind it out which we have done and got the three points. That's the most important thing.
"Their goal it was on my left hand side, a little bit easy. Blind side of me. One of them if I kick it, it would probably have gone into the back of the net for an own goal anyway.
"I was hoping for Harvey to come out but it happened so quickly, easily let in from the left hand side but fair play to the kid he's gambled and put it away well.
"But it did give us that kick up the backside we needed and it kick-started our performance and we started to play a lot better football, we started to play without pressure, we were not panicing, spread the ball well to the wings and we got the three points were deserved."
Since Willets has joined Hereford FC results have improved.
"It's nothing to do with me, I'm one out of sixteen.
"Every single person has done their part. Although we've won four games out of four since I've come in, it's every single one of us working together, pulling together, working hard, playing the ball well and taking chances.
"We could take a few more chances but three wins in the league and one in the cup and we are moving on now."
