There will be a bucket collection on Saturday at Edgar Street for Blackmarston School Sensory Appeal. The school for children with Special Educational Needs is raising funds for the playground, enabling the children to play and help in their various therapies.

The collection is a follow up to last weekends monster bike ride, in which club photographer Steve ‘Nibbo’ Niblett, Bulls fans Richard Powell & Stuart Hawker and 5 others cycled 265 miles, over 21 hours, climbing 12,00 feet across Wales in order to raise funds.

Stuart said ‘It was our toughest and longest challenge yet, 65 miles further than we did last time and I certainly felt it!, The second day was particularly brutal, travelling across 5 valleys over 77 miles and 6000ft of climbing!”

Stuarts daughter attends Blackmarston and has made significant progress since starting there and is one of many success stories from the school. So if you have a spare quid, please pop it in the bucket – and think of what those poor blokes and their bottoms went through last weekend!

To round off the ride, Puma Creek will be performing at the Victory pub Sunday evening (7.30) which will also have a BBQ and a raffle including some HFC items.
