The Bulls are to lose their High Street retail presence with partners FiT announcing the closure of their store in the city.
Store owner Luke Conod blames a series of broken promises on the decision, with H&M the latest to break Herefordshire Council's worthless promise that no retailers would be poached from existing city centre sites for the new OLM development. His statement also blame wide economic issues, but continues:
However, closer to home, our Truffle Card Loyalty Scheme has
recently been refused a £50k loan from Herefordshire Councillors to help
over 600 Independent businesses put together their very own points
based nectar style card, a scheme that would not only help businesses in
Herefordshire but would have been able to help Independent businesses
across the country, in turn the profits from this could have been re
invested in Herefordshire
We have all recently witnessed the council dole out 10 times this figure - (yes £500k) - to a London business to develop a new out of town shopping centre for the national chains and multiples; they haven't even used a Hereford firm to build it! This was the last straw for me. In my view the councillors involved in the decision not to help good Independent businesses right across the county in favour of a London based Property firm, should be ashamed of themselves.
I would like to wish bricks and mortar businesses in Hereford well during this transitional period.

The Bulls agreed a deal with FiT in 2010 to stock a range of Bulls merchandise, the first time the Bulls had a regular city centre presence. It is hoped that another retailer is able to take over their duties.
