The Bulls travel to Mansfield on Tuesday night knowing that a change of manager could have thrown the form book out of the window.
The Bulls' 2-1 win at Edgar Street in November featured the bulk of the Stags players that played in Billy Dearden's final game at the weekend but the Bulls' last trip to Field Mill was not so good, losing in September 2006 4-1 to a Richie Barker inspired Stags side.
With Dearden's departure after a dismal 4-0 thumping by Rochdale, no-one will be quite sure what Stags side will turn up. Former striker Barker, now at Hartlepool, is the fans' choice to replace Dearden but former York boss Billy McEwan has been seen at Field Mill in recent weeks and is expected to be named as boss prior to Tuesday's match. Their dismal home form, with a solitary point from a possible 27, is the first thing a new boss will have to sort out.
The Bulls go to Field Mill with high hopes after a solid, if unspectacular, win over Accrington. With Sherjill Macdonald's future as a Bull looking bleak as higher clubs circle for his loan signing, manager Graham Turner is likely to be forced into a change of forward partnership with Gary Hooper expected to be partnered by Theo Robinson.
Mansfield Town vs Hereford United, Field Mill, Tuesday 11th March, 7.45pm.
