Deadly Submarine of the excellent Total Tranmere Website has spoken to a Bulls News Contributer ExLandlord in advance of Saturday's FA Cup game with Hereford United at Prenton Park.
Sub: What is Your Name, Age and for how long have you supported Hereford?
Chris: Chris Powis (aka Ex-Landlord) Age 57 coming on 23. A Bull since 1955/56. (A version of Mad Cow Disease?)
Sub: Best Moment Supporting Hereford?
Chris: Drawing with Newcastle away in the FA Cup in '72 (The replay result was always going to happen)
Sub: Worst Moment Supporting Hereford?
Chris: The relegation game against Brighton that cost us our League place in '97.
Sub: Who is Your All-Time Favourite Hereford Utd Player?
Chris: Dixie McNeil our incredible goalscorer in the early League years and, of course, the late and great John Charles who played at Edgar Street in the twilight of his career.
Sub: Who would you say is Hereford's "One to Watch"?
Chris: For his age, John McCombe (brother of Bristol City's Jamie) is showing lots of promise.
Sub: Do you have any Youngsters to look out for?
Chris: I think Graham Turner has a great management future in the game ;-)
Sub: What Do You Fear Could Go Wrong This Season?
Chris: It's remotely possible that we could lose an odd point to Shrewsbury.
Sub: Which Player would you personally Pay to Leave the Club?
Chris: Be serious, we've only just got enough for a team!
Sub: Is Graham Turner the Right Man for the Job?
Chris: On the field he has, at times, worked miracles with little or no money. I believe being Chairman as well may be too much for one person.
Sub: Which Team Do You Most Want to Beat This Season?
Chris: Has to be The Slops (Shrewsbury) as I have an ongoing wager of a gallon of ale with one of their six fingered fans.
Sub: Most Detested Opposition Player?
Chris: Anthony Elding (Stockport), a to55er of the highest order.
Sub: Most Admired Opposition Player?
Chris: In League 2, I would say Jason Puncheon the wide midfielder from Barnet.
Sub: What were your views on Steven Jennings when he was on loan at Edgar Street last season? Since returning he has been a revelation for Rovers in midfield.
Chris: Very good engine and gets stuck into opposing midfielders. A bit one-footed but needs the other foot to stand on. Glad he's doing well and that his time at The Street has apparently helped him. When's he coming back?
Sub: Where Do You See Hereford Utd Finishing This Season?
Chris: A lot will depend on the January transfer window activity because we are a bit thin on the ground. We badly need to replace Lionel Ainsworth who left to join Watford.
Sub: Do you think either of Tranmere or Hereford will get relegated/promoted this season from their respective Divisions?
Chris: At the time of writing this you are just four points off the play-offs so a bit more consistency should see you make it. We are in there at the moment but also need to maintain our form. Neither team will go up IMO but no fear of relegation either.
Sub: Finally, your prediction for the forth-coming game?
Chris: Get your coaches booked for the replay.....a two all draw.
