Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore blasted his side's set-piece defending after they scored three times against Crewe, and still lost.
In his post-match comments he told the press: "We're supposed to be solid defensively and had two clean sheets in the last two games. We give them men to mark, but the number six has won two headers in our box. We get ourselves level but then with five minutes to go we can't cope with a corner.
"The lads gave their all but we were naïve from set plays defensively. The game was here to be won. I was pleased with an awful lot of the attacking play, but if you don't defend right you lose games."
"We've thrown three points away. It's astounding we've thrown three goals away from set plays. We've got big, strong, able defenders but we never won a header in our box. How we have lost the game is beyond me. We had chances when we were down to 10 men and we had fantastic support. We got sloppy and we just couldn't cope with corners and if you can't cope with a simple ball into the box at this level then you are going to struggle."
