Step four club Matlock have said fitness and work commitments are the reasons behind Montel Gibson's loan move to Edgar Street.
The striker, who played eight games and scored two goals for the Bulls last season before switching to the Derbyshire side, is set to be with Hereford until the end of the season.
Contracted to Matlock until the end of next season, including an option for a year extension in the club's favour, Gibson's return should give the Bulls as a boost as they look to improve after a rocky start to the Enterprise National League North campaign.
On Gibson's departure, Matlock Town said: "Montel has struggled to fit playing and training with the Gladiators around his work commitments this season, with the extra travelling set to have a huge impact on his personal, family and business life.
"We wish Montel well for the rest of the campaign."
It strikes a resemblance to Paul Caddis's comments when Gibson first left Edgar Street.
At the time, Caddis said: "On Sunday morning I had a call from Monty where he was very open and honest about his work commitments. He explained that he has been given an opportunity in his working life that benefits him and, most importantly, his young family, that he simply cannot turn down.
"Due to the new work commitment Montel is now unable to commit fully to us and will be looking to relocate to a different area which will make things much more difficult for him."
Since joining Matlock, Gibson scored 23 goals in 37 games despite their relegation from the Northern Premier League last season.
