Montel Gibson has chosen a return to Hereford over seven other clubs, Hereford boss Paul Caddis has said.
Having been with Hereford at the start of last season before a change in circumstances led to his move to Matlock, he netted twice in eight games for the Bulls.
But he was spotted in the Merton Stand at Edgar Street on Saturday while Matlock were in FA Cup action, fuelling speculation - especially as Caddis said after the match he was close to bringing in a player on loan.
He has now joined the Bulls on loan until the end of the season.
The ex-League Two forward joined Notts County aged 18, from where he would spend time on loan at Romulus, Hednesford Town and Sutton Coldfield Town. In 2020, he was back in League Two with Grimsby Town under manager Ian Holloway.
Speaking to the official club website, Caddis said: “I want to stress Montel chose to come back to our club over 7 other interested parties. We have a brilliant relationship and I am excited to work with ‘Monty’ again."
