It Was A Battle Said Rowe

After tonight's game at Edgar Street, Gloucester manager James Rowe gave his reaction to his side's 1-0 victory.

"Delighted for the supporters, delighted for the board, delighted for everyone," said Rowe.

"It's some feat, the last time we won here was in 1953.

"You have to enjoy these moments but we mustn't get carried away with what we are doing at the moment.

"It was a battle, I think first half we were so dominant without making too many passes. I think possession was even but we looked ruthless on the counter-attack, something we have worked on.

"Our first clean sheet of the season.

"We controlled large parts, we controlled the momentum of the game without having the ball.

"Obviously the penalty, it's a shame Akwasi missed it. I think that can change a game but we didn't let it.

"A really good solid second half.

"The game plan really worked, we have to be delighted.

"Unbeaten in eight, top of the league but we must keep our feet firmly on the ground."
