Southend will have defender Chris Barker return from suspension for their trip to Edgar Street tomorrow.
Barker, the Shrimpers' captain, returns after a one match ban and could be joined in defence by full back Lee Hills. The recent signing missed last week's game with a hamstring strain but returned to training yesterday. Boss Paul Sturrock will have to decide whether to return the pair to the starting XI.
Midfielder Anthony Grant is suspended after collecting his tenth yellow card of the season. Top scorer Liam Dickinson and midfielder Jean-Paul Kalala are out for the season after undergoing operations last weekend, while the club is yet to decide on the future of Bilel Moshni.
Sturrock is considering a loan move for QPR striker Rowan Vine, but is concerned about the player's lack of match fitness after not starting a first team match in six months. With Moshni and Dickinson both out the Shrimpers are struggling for goals.
Meanwhile, writing in the local press, he mused about tomorrow's game:
'Hereford will be a difficult place for us to go. They won at Morecambe last weekend and have had some good results recently so I’m expecting them to come out all guns blazing against us.
They’re fighting for their lives and we will want the three points. But we want to bounce back from drawing against Accrington. If we had held on at the end we would still be in the top three and would’ve taken seven points out of nine.
We’d then all be saying how well we were doing. However, that’s the not case and we’re disappointed to have slipped down to fourth in the table.'
