News Round-Up

Former Bulls striker Jason Price has left Morecambe by mutual consent and signed for Conf North side Guiseley. The 34 year old scored twice in 19 games for the Shrimps but had only played two games in the last two months. Accrington have extended the loan of Hull midfielder Jamie Devitt until the end of the season. The 21 year old has played six times for Stanley since arriving at the club at the end of January.

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson has asked the Referees association, PGMO, to not send referee Darren Deadman to referee another of their games. Parkinson made the complaint after Deadman awarded two penalties against the Bantams in their loss at Wimbledon. Grimsby have lost their court battle with Boston over compensation for management duo Rob Scott and Paul Hurst. They have been ordered to pay Boston £10,500 in compensation plus £10,000 in costs with the judge calling chairman John Fenty 'reckless'.

Oxford have told fans at a forum last night that they made £45,000 last season, but will lose over £200,000 this term largely due to having to sign extra players due to injuries. Former Bulls defender Janos Kovacs has had his red card from Tuesday night rescinded. The Hungarian was dismissed late on in Luton's draw at Darlington.

Port Vale's players have reacted angrily after finding out the club's Administrator had appointed an agent to tout them to other clubs. Boss Micky Adams is reported to have known nothing about it, and refused to comment to the press as he was 'legally obliged' not to talk about the work of the Administrator. Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler says he handed a 'rap across the knuckles' to striker Adam Birchall after the player told fans he wouldn't play again this season. Hessenthaler says Birchall jumped the gun and that isn't necessarily the case.

FC United of Manchester have announced that they have raised the £1.6million they need to secure grants to build their own stadium. The £4.6million project will see a 5,000 capacity stadium and training pitches built on a site in the Moston area of Greater Manchester, allowing them to leave Bury's Gigg Lane which they pay around £5,000 a match to hire. Port Vale's Administrator has made Chief Executive Perry Deakin redundant. They say that, despite the previous board claiming he had resigned, they could not find proof that he had actually resigned so they made him redundant without payoff. Three other staff members have also left the club.

Bradford have signed Barnsley striker Chris Dagnall on loan, and allowed fellow striker Ross Hannah to join Halifax on loan. Former Rochdale man Dagnall, 25, only joined the Tykes from Scunthorpe in January but has failed to score in nine games. Oxford have signed West Ham striker Christian Montano on loan for an initial month. The 20 year old has had spells this season at Swindon, Dagenham, and Notts County (twice), scoring eight times in 30 games.

Accrington have signed Wigan defender Rob Kiernan on loan for the rest of the season. The 21 year old Irish u21 international had loan spells with Bradford, Wycombe, and Yeovil last season.
