Bulls Safety Gap Down To Goal Difference

The Bulls safety gap is now down to goal difference after Northampton beat Macclesfield 3-2 tonight.

That win means they draw level with the Bulls, and Plymouth, on 27 points with the Bulls' goal difference being two better than the Cobblers. For the Silkmen it was an eighth straight loss with their gap to the drop zone down from 13 points to just three since the turn of the year. Barnet lost 2-1 at Oxford, missing a penalty in the process, to stay within reach on 33 points.

In the other games, Swindon go top after recording their eighth straight win in beating Shrewsbury 2-1 with ex-Bull Alan Connell scoring both goals. Cheltenham are second after a goalless draw with Wimbledon, with Southend's 2-0 loss at Aldershot pushing them down to third. Crewe beat Accrington 2-0, while Gillingham played out a goalless draw with Rotherham.

In the Conference Fleetwood retain their two point lead after hammering Ebbsfleet 6-2. Wrexham keep pace by beating Kidderminster 1-0, while Forest Green win 3-1 at Kettering. Darlington lose 5-2 at Mansfield, while Luton's vague hopes of automatic promotion are further away after they go down 1-0 at Barrow.
