Former Bulls loanee Stephen Jennings has been arrested by Police over match fixing allegations.
The 26 year old Motherwell player, who played 11 times on loan at Edgar Street from Tranmere, was sent off in a match against Hearts last December. The Gambling Commission launched an investigation after bookmakers noticed several large bets on a Motherwell red card from the Liverpool area.
At the time spokesman Alan Alger of BlueSq told the BBC: "At Blue Square, we actually offer specific team red cards. In any particularly live game, you can back a team to get a red card.
"In this instance, the market that had the suspicious activity was the Motherwell red card market, but we understand from other bookmakers that their particular concern was over any red card in the game. What we mean by suspicious is new accounts opening up and trying to back that specific outcome."
Jennings, who has been an ever-present this season for Motherwell, picked up 14 yellow cards last season but the red card in question was his only one for the club. Eight other men have also been arrested over the matter.
