Plymouth hope to get Football League ratification for their takeover next Thursday, and could finalise the deal by the following day. The Administrator has confirmed that he has had no further bids for the club, despite speculation, but that agreement has still to be reached with employees over payment of their back wages. The issue hasn't stopped the Pilgrims moving to sign defender Darren Purse on loan from Millwall, with the deal expected to be completed later today.
Wimbledon's with Oxford on Boxing Day has been selected for live Sky TV coverage. It will be their second game of the season on TV, after their opening day match with Bristol Rovers was also televised. Burton are trialling Argentinian striker Andres Gurrieri. Sims was elected to the board by a shareholders meeting four months ago but claims he was told to sign on as a guarantor before being given full access to financial information. Oxford have extended the loan of teenager Robert Hall from West Ham for a second month. The 17 year old scored their goal at Edgar Street last Saturday.
