Jamie Pitman is in talks with chairman David Keyte about extending his deal to manage Hereford United.
Pitman took over last October from Simon Davey when the Bulls had just five points from ten games.
"We have been playing like a top 10 side and initial negoations have been opened with Jamie Pitman about continuing next season," Keyte told the Hereford Times.
"We have also been talking with four of the players from the current squad about remaining for next year, too.
"We have been very happy with the performances of this group over the last three or four months and intend to keep as many of them as we can."
Keyte also told the paper that the club, as at yesterday, had not received any explanation about the commission's decision to dock three points after the club played Rob Purdie in a game with Torquay when he wasn't registered.
