Simpson Pre-Hereford Visit

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson has spoken about tomorrow's local derby against Hereford United. He is hopeful that his side can get revenge on the Bulls after the first meeting between the two sides this season ended in a 2-1 victory for the Bulls.

"We all want to be involved in big games, local derbies are big games. We're expecting there to be a good crowd again, our support this season has been absolutely tremendous at home, and we have had good numbers away from home, which puts to shame the numbers we get here in the away section.

"We want that to continue, and it will continue as long as we keep getting results. We've got to go out against Hereford, do ourselves justice, which I don't think we did in the first 20 minutes at Hereford.

"We let ourselves down at their place."

Meanwhile Simpson has acknowledged talks with veteran Norwich striker Jamie Cureton, who is yet to give an answer, telling the BBC about his frustration at trying to sign a striker: "To be honest, I've been looking since Grant Holt left in the summer, and more now since Omer Riza left and Nathan Elder went out on loan for the rest of the season.

"You'd think players would want to come to a decent club, with a decent stadium, and score a few goals for their CV - but getting definitive answers is proving impossible.

"The only one we had was John O'Flynn at Barnet, who didn't want a permanent deal but would have loved to come on loan - but then Barnet said they didn't want a loan deal."
