Boston Deny Recievership Rumours

Boston United have tonight denied reports that they are about to enter Recievership.

Chairman Jim Rodwell appeared on tonight's BBC Look North programme to deny rumours, which had swelled during the day, that one-time Leeds United reciever Gerald Krasner was set to sweep into York Street to assess the business.

Boston hold few tangible assets and plunging gates have seen the club struggle this season. Manager Steve Evans has insisted new investment is only days away, but no source of this investment has been made public and the Boston fans are doubting it's existence.

The ground remains under the ownership of former Chairman Pat Malkinshaw's family, who are now liable for the repayment of the £323,000 tax underpaid by the club during his reign, while the club's lease on the ground is perilously short.

Lavaflow, a consortium that officially owns the club, has designs on redeveloping both York Street and Boston Town's stadium - building two new grounds in their place. The ownership of Lavaflow is not entirely clear but ex-Chief Executive Jon Sotnick, who departed for Darlington in the summer, and his wife are believed to be shareholders and the company is late in filing it's annual accounts.

Boston's supporters are resigned to not being a league club come the end of the season, but many also expect the club to fold before April.
