James looks forward

Tony James, who is to be captain of Hereford United for a second season, is looking forward to securing the top place in the Conference.

James, who has played in 225 Conference games for the Bulls, told the Western Daily Press  that he is looking to start well with a win against Farnborough on the opening day of the campaign.

"We want to go one better than last season. We want to be at the top. That's where the players and everyone at the club want to be."

Talking about Carlisle United, who are currently favourites, James noted:"They had some very good results towards the end of last season, but we are concentrating on what we need to do."

Hereford United manager,Graham Turner, is also said to be confident that the players will respond to the task ahead.

"The despair of missing out on promotion so cruelly has now turned to enthusiasm and energy for another crack at the coveted prize."

Turner also spoke of new coach John Trewick.

"John has been impressive with his enthusiasm and expertise." .
