Hereford's Squad Builder campaign has added £100K to the manager Paul Caddis's budget according to chairman Chris Ammonds.
"The Squad Builder has been a massive boost," said Ammonds in an interview with Terry Goodwin for BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We were able to release a little bit more money to Paul at the start so we were able to give him a bigger budget than he was operating with last year. Which is great from a club prospective because that demonstrates as a business we've done better.
"We (as at last Saturday) haven't done the figures yet because it only closed yesterday in terms of the match funding element but I'm pretty confident that we will have passed the £50K mark in terms of money raised by fans.
"The founding shareholders came forward with this offer that they would match whatever the fans raised - whether they thought fans would raise £50K I don't know, I haven't asked them that question.
"So to be able to add £100K to it, we release the money as it comes in, we don't hold it back and now he's suddenly got £100K more, he's not suddenly going shopping in the next week.
"We have to give him the money as it comes in or even before in certain cases because he wanted to be ahead of the game and building his squad.
"There's no point waiting until a week before the season because pre-season is gone then and you can't do any planning so that money has been added all the way through. Hopefully there's a little bit that he's got to play with.
"It's made a massive difference."
