Caddis admits Hereford have to be careful with two games in three days

Hereford boss Paul Caddis said players picked up bumps and bruises on Tuesday night and he would need to be careful in training on Thursday
Hereford manager Paul Caddis has said he needs to be careful as his side prepares to take on Southport and Radcliffe Borough this weekend.

After Tuesday's 1-1 draw at home to Peterborough Sports, a game in which Hereford started brightly and were expected to take three points, there were a couple of players the gaffer was worried about.

Speaking after the match, he said he would have to assess the bumps and bruises at the 90-minute training session on Thursday. During that session, he admitted that he would have to be careful after games on Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday and Monday.

He said Montel Gibson hadn't had a pre-season. The striker had played virtually every minute of the first two games and was then substituted around the hour mark on Tuesday because he was "tired".

Centre-back Matt Preston was another player Caddis was forced to replace during the match. He had a tight groin and the change changed the match for Hereford, despite some wayward passing from the former Harrier.

Caddis feared if Preston continued, it could've been more serious and he could have been out for up to five weeks.

Speaking more widely, Caddis said: "It's frustrating but we've built a really strong squad.

"I know what it's like, I know when we win we're the best team in the world I absolutely get that. When we lose or drop points we're the worst - I understand the expectations at the football club."

He added: "The bigger picture is we've got five points, we're unbeaten, and we've just got to try and win next week[end]."
