News round up

Touray during a spell at Hereford
Former Hereford loanee Mo Touray has signed for Chorley. The 24-year-old, who made just shy of 20 appearances for the Bulls on loan from Newport County in 2022, enjoyed a fruitful year in the Northern Premier League last season, scoring 18 and assisting 12 in 40 appearances, helping his side reach the play-offs.

With reportedly plenty of interest garnering from step 2 and above, Touray has chosen to sign for a Magpies side that finished fourth in the National League North last term. In fact, Chorley are already into pre-season with an optional training session on Tuesday.

Scunthorpe United have said experienced centre-back Andrew Boyce has agreed a deal to extend his stay at the Attis Arena until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Boyce, who joined the club in 2022 for a second spell and was formerly Eastleigh's captain, has established himself as a key performer under several managers, the club said. The 34-year-old has surpassed 100 appearances for the club which "embeds him into the history books".

Darlington are selling match-worn shirts from last season's third kit for £120.

The club said they were worn during some "memorable" away victories, including wins at Curzon, Warrington, and Blyth. Each shirt features the player's name, number, and all sponsor logos, making them a "unique collector’s item".

National League South side Truro City have appointed former Macclesfield Town, York City and Port Vale boss John Askey as their new manager. The 59-year-old succeeds Paul Wotton, who left the Tinners last month to take on the vacant role at National League South rivals Torquay United.

Askey led Macclesfield to the National League title in 2018 and guided York City to promotion back to the fifth tier two years ago. He told BBC Radio Cornwall: "We want to try and write some more history for the football club."
