The road to Wembley starts today for Hereford FC as they enter the FA Cup with a tie against Anstey Nomads.
Last season the Bulls had a good run in the cup getting to round one and a televised tie against Portsmouth.
How far the Bulls will go this season remains to be seen.
Usually the first 'tie' of the season doesn't attract a great attendance, perhaps because it's all pay, or perhaps because it's usually against lower graded opposition, or both.
And whatever the gate after expenses it is shared between both clubs.
There is some prize money. £3375 for the winners, £1125 for the losers.
On the pitch in the Cup there are usually seven substitutes. With two players added to his squad this week, manager Paul Caddis should have enough bodies to fill the bench.
Most lower league clubs need a cup run to enhance their income. Anstey Nomads will be no exception.
Hereford must treat the game seriously if they are to progress in the famous competition.
