We Were Incredibly Impressed With Caddis Said Ammonds

Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds have spoken to BBC Hereford and Worcester about the appointment of Paul Caddis as the new Hereford manager.

"We had some really good candidates, we were really flattered by the candidates who applied," said Ammonds.

"Paul just came in and he was a little bit of an outsider in many ways but he came in and his enthusiasm, his passion, his desire, his hunger, he was desparate for a chance.

"He's had a great football career, Celtic, Birmingham City, Swindon, captain at Birmingham, captain at Swindon, clear leadership qualities.

"And he took us with him in the first interview and again in the second interview.

"On paper probably the least experienced in terms of coaching and certainly managerial, but he was fantastic.

"He was so hungry in the interviews, that was the thing that stood out more than anything.

"He was desperate for a chance, waiting for a chance, and I think he recognised the potential that there is at Edgar Street and just put his name into the hat.

"We were incredibly impressed with him.

"He's got those leadership qualities because he said he has managed dressing rooms at quite big football clubs.

"I think he's a really good fit for us at this moment in time.

"Paul is going to take his opportunity to look at a couple of live games and have a look at the squad and make some assessments for himself."
