Marco Rus
Once again the Hereford manager could not put out anywhere near his strongest side for this afternoon's game at Kings Lynn.
After the game Gowling was asked about Harry Pinchard who didn't travel.
"I don't know whether he's got flu or covid, it's been going around the group a little bit.
"Harry's been sick, he's been in bed."
And no Aaron Amadi-Holloway either?
"He's tweaked his groin in training on Tuesday so that's why he's not here today."
Gowling has brought in Marco Rus, a young midfielder, on loan from Coventry and he took Pinchard's place.
"I really appreciate that the board have given us funds to bring in Marco from Coventry and he's been outstanding today.
"We were looking at a midfielder anyway because I just think if Harry or Kane or Jethro gets injuried then we've got a lack of bodies with the people we've got on the injury table at the moment so we needed another one anyway especially with the way we want to play.
"I spoke about Marco last week with the people at Coventry so he was on our radar, there's always players on my radar.
"Harry didn't come training Thursday so we gave Coventry a ring and so we're really pleased with them that they got it over the line.
"Harry woke up Friday, said he felt worse so I made the calls to make sure and Nic our secretary got it over the line very quick."
Rus seemed to fit in very well in the first half considering he hadn't trained.
"I just think the way we train, the way we work, we've got a system so the lads understand the system so he's coming into an already working system.
"When you get football league players, they've got a pedigree, they've got a football brain, they understand things quite easily.
"I just thought he was excellent today."
