James Rowe, the AFC Fylde manager, has been charged with the 'alleged sexual assult' of a woman last November.
This from Derbyshire Police:
'Officers received a report in January 2022 about an offence in #Chesterfield which was alleged to have taken place in November 2021. James Rowe (39) of Breaston, #Derby, is due to appear before magistrates in Chesterfield in November.'
Rowe left Chesterfield by mutual consent last February.
"We would not want to get rid of a manager that has got this team top of the league unless there was good reason to have to part company," said Chesterfield vice-chair Martin Thacker at an AGM in March.
"The difficulty for us is that it is not appropriate for us to disclose the elements of what happened, the allegations, the insinuations, and all the things that were put to us."
