Salford City sacked manager Richie Wellings earlier today and according to press reports could appoint former Hereford United player Gary Bowyer to take over.
Bowyer is currently at Derby County managing their under 23's
49 year old Bowyer, a full back, played for Hereford during the 1989/90 season after signing from Westfields.
Salford is owned by former Man Utd stars Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and David Beckham.
