Weston academy players and staff are to run 1392 miles in February in memory of Chris Barker to raise money for mental health charity MIND.
Barker played for ten different clubs including Hereford FC during his career.
He started at Barnsley in 1999 and went on play for Cardiff City, Stoke City, Colchester United, QPR, Plymouth Argyle, Southend United, Aldershot Town and Hereford before finishing with The Seagulls in 2017.
"We're honoured to be able to do something in memory of Barks and if we can help raise some money and awareness of mental health issues along the way, then that's even better," said Academy Manager Mark McKeever.
"With what's going on in the world at this present time, the subject of mental health is very topical, affecting a lot of people in different ways, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try and play our part, even if it is only in a small way."
