Billy Murphy played in Hereford's first league game of the season against Blyth Spartans |
Former Hereford midfielder Billy Murphy has signed for National League North rivals Leamington.
23-year-old Murphy left Hereford by mutual consent at the beginning of January and spent time at Halesowen Town after leaving Edgar Street.
Leamington manager Paul Holleran is pleased with the latest addition to his squad ahead of their trip to Chester tomorrow.
He told the club's website: "I'm delighted to be able to add Billy to the squad. He is somebody who we have been aware of for a while now, he has played against us a couple of times and has done well at Bath and Hereford.
"With our current situation having a couple of injuries and a suspension it has been difficult trying to find unattached players to bring in, so think we have done well to get both Elliot Hodge and Billy this week.
"They are both young lads but are experienced at this level, and I think they will do well for us."
Murphy was part of Pete Beadle's youth team at Hereford United, before making his senior debut with the club in 2014 when Beadle was appointed caretaker manager.
He then spent time with Bristol City's under-21s and Bath City before returning to Edgar Street.
