Mike Symons didn't make the trip to York City on Tuesday evening after 'feeling his hamstring'.
Target man Symons has been a mainstay in the Bulls' line up since returning from injury in November, but was rested for the York game to ensure he was fresh for Saturday's trip to Leamington.
"He's been absolutely superb, we've mentioned this time and time again, he was just feeling his hamstring," Richards told the press after the game.
"He still thinks he probably could have got through 20 or 30 minutes not a problem if I needed him.
"But to drag him all the way up here to potentially get back at 3am and then to not have a fresh Mike Symons for Saturday, I just thought it was the right call to leave him at home.
"Hopefully he's wrapped up in bed already, cup of tea, and he's raring to go for Saturday."
