Hereford United played Banbury United during the expunged season |
Banbury United have announced that the game against Hereford on Tuesday 10th October will see segregation in force.
After meeting with Thames Valley Police, the club say they were strongly advised to enforce this, but didn't take the decision lightly.
Segregation will be no shock to Hereford fans who are used to it at Edgar Street, but the Puritans say it could prove unpopular with loyal home fans.
In a statement, the club said: "This decision was not taken lightly but was agreed by the board after meeting with Thames Valley Police; they strongly advised us that this should be implemented.
"Segregation will be provided through stewards and heras fencing.
"We know that this decision will not be popular with some of our loyal supporters. Please rest assured we spent a long time looking at other ways to have a segregated area but with the layout of the ground as it is we just cannot provide this and the required ancillary facilities in any other way."
Limited bar facilities will be provided, but will shut at half time - or sooner if circumstances dictate that.
