As reported earlier on BN, Eastleigh's home game against Chester on the weekend had to be postponed just two hours before kick off as the pitch was deemed unplayable.
The problem - caused by a 'sub-soil drainage issue' - has hopefully been rectified today after emergency work on the pitch.
But Spitfires Chief Executive Mark Jewell has admitted that they may have to dig the pitch up to resolve issues.
Jewell told BBC Radio Solent: "We’ll be having experts in to look at the wider area to see what remedial work we can do.
"We've tried to solve this problem without having to dig the pitch up – which obviously has an affect on fixtures – but we may have to do that now, depending on how the consultation goes and what the view is on the best way forward."
Hereford are due to visit the Silverlake stadium the weekend of 14th October.
