Few Hereford supporters will know the name Peter Churchus who has just been appointed as a director of the club.
Here a short profile taken from holidaybreak.co.uk:
Educated at Hereford High School for Boys, Peter trained as a Chartered
Accountant at a local firm in Hereford who were auditors of PGL. After
qualifying, Peter joined PGL in 1976 as Company Accountant, made Company
Secretary in 1978 and became the Financial Director 2 years later. By
the age of 29, Peter was responsible for both the marketing, finances
and the IT function of the Group. Obtained an MBA from Warwick
University and eventually became Group Managing Director.
Peter left PGL in 1995 to set up his own company, Totally Trains. It has a shop in Ross-on-Wye but is primarily a mail order business. It is now one of the leading model railway businesses in the country. (Later he sold out to AC Models of Eastleigh.) During 1995 to 1998 Peter also worked at Skiers World which was the leading provider of school skiing holidays to North America.
Peter rejoined PGL as Finance Director in 2003, becoming acting Managing Director for 9 months prior to the appointment of Martin Davies, driving the acquisition of 3D Education and Adventure. Peter was appointed Finance Director of the Education Division upon its formation in February 2008.
Peter's interests are his family (3 children), railway modelling, cooking, and a long standing and unhealthy passion for Hereford United.
