Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale feels that the only way to move the club forward is to agree a longer lease with Herefordshire Council.
"We've got real hard evidence now that we've done what we've set out to do here," said Hale.
"There's a massive feeling now that we've got this club on a level footing and that we want to move forward.
"The only way we can do that is if we have a longer lease so that we have a platform to carry on building this football club further forward.
"We must never lose site of that ambition which has to be football league."
Hale is very pleased with the support the new club is receiving.
“Every game that we come to, we can’t help but look around and admire what has gone on over the past six months,” he said.
“People tell me that it’s the happiest they’ve seen Edgar Street in decades and it’s nice that we can enjoy the football and enjoy being here.
“The appetite in Herefordshire and the wider community for this football club is incredible and something we have to embrace.
“Moving forward, there are projects we’d like to embark on but they don’t make sense with such a short lease. We want to stay here and achieve an extension to the lease – we will hopefully be speaking to the council in the near future.”
