Dylan Bonella Captained Hereford FC |
He gave starts to four of his under 18 squad, Lewis Clarke, Jay Richmond, Carlos Moriera and Tom Gameson and another, Matt McDonald, was on the bench.
Former youth team player Dylan Bonella was given the captains armband and two other former youth team players, Ben Miller and Max Kontic-Coventry, also started.
Harvey Rivers in goal, Jamie Willets, Aaron Birch and Nathan Hughes made up the eleven.
New signing Ryan Green travelled to the game but wasn't able to take part as his international clearance hadn't come through.
Pershore started quite brightly winning a couple of corners. From one of these the ball was flicked on beating Rivers and clipping the bar.
But withing ten minutes or so, Hereford started to dominate proceedings.
On 15 minutes, Hereford scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
Moriera received the ball and ran with it down the right wing. After getting around a few defenders he crossed the ball towards Nathan Hughes who tapped the ball into the net.
From then on Hereford took control of the game but failed to add to their solitary goal partly because of some good goalkeeping from the Pershore keeper Andy Yarnold.
Beadle took off several youngsters late in the second period and brought on Wheatley, Page and McDonald.
But despite numerous corners and several shots on target, Hereford FC had to be content with the 1-0 victory.
