Stutes Looking For First Win

Hereford United visit Histon on Saturday for a first competitive match against the Cambridgeshire side.

The village based Stutes reached the heights of the Conference a year after Graham Turner's side won promotion back to the Football League, but financial problems has seen them relegated twice in three years to return to the Southern League Premier division that they won ten years ago.

An average of 172 people have watched games at the Glassworld Stadium this season, with the Stutes yet to win any of their seven games, including a 6-0 thrashing by local rivals Cambridge City on the August Bank Holiday on their own ground - with City the 'home' side as tenants at the stadium.

They recovered from that with a 1-1 draw with Slough last weekend, having two men sent off in the process. That team had several changes from the previous weekend, with manager Brian Page bringing in a trio of new faces. He raided Cambridge United for striker James Akintunde and midfielder Matt Lowe, both first year pros, and also brought in midfielder Rogan McGeorge while releasing two more players.

With Luis Morrison-Derbyshire departing Edgar Street, there are just 30 possible names for manager Jon Taylor to pick from. Plenty of new arrivals have been revealed, four in the last week either through announcement or names on team sheets, but the captain's departure is the only one to be announced so far.

There is now a list of players at the club on the official site but it shows just 11 members, including the departed captain, meaning that fans still do not have a definitive list of who is currently at the club.

One item that has been updated on the site is that Laura Phelps is now listed as the Club Secretary on the Who's Who section.
