Histon boss Brian Page has told the Cambridge News that he feels sorry for Hereford United.
He told the paper: “Hereford are a big club with a good history and great support, and you hate to see any team struggling like this. I’ve got a lot of sympathy for them because we’ve had those problems as well.
“We know how difficult it can be when there are all of those off-the-field worries and you’re trying to concentrate on getting results on the field.”
Bookies are again refusing to accept bets on a game involving Hereford United, with Histon one of the few teams with longer odds for the Southern League at 500/1. However the current odds list sees Dorchester and Burnham, who both registered wins by three goals over Hereford United, as having lesser chances than this season than Jon Taylor's charges.
What team Taylor will deploy is open for debate. More than 30 players have appeared either on the teamsheet or announced as signings, but only one has been confirmed to have departed.
Rumours continue that several players have left the club since the start of the season, but the club refuse to answer questions about the exact composition of the current squad and list only ten players on the official site - having removed departed captain Luis Morrison-Derbyshire from the list in the last 24 hours.
