£10,000 To Get On Harriers Board

Kidderminster will consider offering seats on their Club board to anyone willing to put in £10,000.

The sum was revealed by Chairman Ken Rae after Finance Director Joe Hancox became the latest departure from the board on Tuesday night, with each of the current board putting in £10,000 each season. Rae told the Worcester News:

“We’ve lost a number of directors in the space of six months and we’re looking to fill those gaps which gives us some financial support. There’s no set figure but we’re looking for any interested parties to get in touch and we’ll open a dialogue and go from there.

“We’d been looking for £10,000 as a minimum and you never know there might be somebody out there interested in taking over Harriers lock stock and barrel."

Five Directors remain on board, with five more now having left. It has been revealed that the two former Directors that the club are taking legal action against are Ernie and Kath Lane, who quit the club in the summer. The Harriers are attempting to get money from them that they claims was due to the club under an agreement.

Former Chairman Barry Norgrove has been critical of the current board: “When we were on the board, we would have to put our hand in our pocket and put in £20,000 or £50,000 if needed.

“But the club has been spending more than it has been bringing in, which is unsustainable. If that’s the case, you have to cut your cloth accordingly, it’s no point having a good team if you can’t pay the bills.”
