Ex-Bull Michael Townsend says he is ready to get into first team action with Tamworth, a month after signing for the Lambs.
The 27 year old last played a senior game on Boxing Day, 2012, but told the Tamworth Herald he was now fit and ready play: "I received a call from Dale at the beginning of January asking what my situation was.
"I had been playing locally to keep fit following surgery in the summer and was working on my fitness. I came in and trained with the boys and I was more than impressed with what I saw from the club.
"I played for the gaffer in the Birmingham Senior Cup game against Rugby Town. My fitness is there now following some proper professional training that the gaffer, Scott Lindsey and Darren Byfield put on for the squad and the boss knows I'm ready when called upon. I'm raring to go."
Townsend told the paper he almost joined Berwick Rangers before his move to The Lamb. He was a youth player a Wolves when Berwick boss Colin Cameron was a first team regular at Molineux.
