Board Wary Of ACV

Hereford United's board of directors are wary of the idea of a ACV (Asset of Community Value) for Edgar Street as sought by the Supporters Trust.

In a statement, albeit without quotes, on the OS, the board puts forward the idea that an ACV might put off potential developers

'Talks continue with interested parties with a view to developing both ends of the stadium although it is believed by the board that should an ACV application be granted in its present form over the area of the current leases which includes the potential development areas, it could damage current and potential interest from developers.'

The article also says that the board feel that the lease between the Council and Hereford United (1939) 'sets out to do this satisfactorily' ie protect the ground.

The Trust position is understood to be that an ACV would also provide some protection for the future on all of the ground including the buildings.

A meeting between the Trust's Chris Williams and Club Chairman David Keyte is due to take place later this month.
