News Round-Up

Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous says Edgar Davids is not the club's manager, but he is the head of the coaching set up. He told the press he 'assumes' that First Team coach Ulrich Landvreugd picks the team. Davids told the press yesterday that he will not travel with the team when they make an overnight stay. When asked why, he told them "I don't have to explain anything to anybody."

Former Bulls coach Dave Kevan has joined Cheltenham as first team coach. The former Stoke man left the Britannia in the wake of Tony Pulis' departure back in May after working with their u21 side last season. Barrow have issued an apology and say they will investigate after manager Dave Bayliss repeatedly swore during a post-match interview with the BBC after their 2-1 loss at Gainsborough.

Six people have been charged in Australia over match fixing allegations. Officials at Southern Stars FC say they were approached by a man offering sponsorship and five free English-based players, with the club coach also working for free. Over $2million is reported to have been won on games involving the side with English keeper Joe Woolley, formerly of several Conf South sides, amongst those charged.
