A lot of water has passed under the Wye Bridge in Hereford since Simon Davey first came to the city as manager of Hereford United. He didn't stay long as he was sacked after taking just five points from ten or so games.
However he's taken the chance to have a swipe at the Bulls in this morning's Mirror.
With Barnsley, one of his former clubs, playing Manchester City in the FA Cup, Davey has been rolled out to give his 'views'.
One of English football's enduring scandals is that too many able young coaches are never given a chance to manage - and of those who make it, too many are consigned to the recycling plant at a tender age.
"With the influx of coaches from abroad, it means there are about 150 applicants for every managerial post, and after leaving Barnsley I probably jumped at a couple of jobs which weren't right for me," conceded Davey.
"Darlington were on the slippery slope towards nowhere, and at Hereford there was a lot more politics going on than I expected. When you stepped inside the door, there was nothing behind the door".
