News Round-Up

Coventry's owners attempts to buy the Ricoh Arena by bankrupting the stadium's owners have failed after the local council effectively took over the £14million mortgage on the stadium from the Yorkshire Bank. The club remains in dispute with the stadium owners over rent payments. Llanelli have been handed another winding up petition, their third of the season, with unpopular chairman Nitin Parekh quitting the club today after seven years at the helm.

Accrington chief executive Rob Heys has told the local press their ground renaming deal will not see the club's playing budget increased, with the local paper saying their budget is £500,000 a season. Barrow boss Dave Bayliss says that Gateshead's pitch is the worst he's ever seen, and he doesn't expect a game to take place on the surface "for the next three or four weeks".

Wrexham, Grimsby, and Luton are all claimed to have lodged bids for Tamworth striker Adam Cunnington. The former Dagenham man has netted 13 times in 26 Conference games this season. Bath City have announced that they are to look at selling their Twerton Park home as they can no longer afford to run the ageing stadium. The club is saddled with substantial long term debt and a redevelopment or move to a new ground is likely.

Cambridge have signed defender Charlie Wassmer on a deal until the end of the season. The 21 year old left Crawley last month after a two year stay, not playing a first team game since last season.
