Whatever became of..........Luke Webb?

Whatever became of..........Luke Webb?

Club historian Ron Parrott has recently been helping former Bull Luke Webb with a few statistical queries and checked up on his career after he sadly had to leave Edgar Street in August 2008 due to serious injury.

Luke was with United from 2006 to 2008 but suffered with a bad hip injury that limited his appearances and hampered his undoubted talent then on 19th August 2008 he took part in a practice match and badly injured his other hip, resulting in him being released by the Club.

Three operations then followed and despite constantly trying and trying to regain full fitness over the last 4 years, Luke finally took the decision this summer to retire.

However, he has since completed a sports science degree and gained his UEFA B licence in coaching and hoping to start the A licence in the Summer. Luke currently works in an independent school, Bradfield College in Reading, where he runs the football programme.

Luke commented "Although you can never beat the feeling of playing, if you can't play then coaching is the next best thing." Luke also commented on United's recent problems, "It's a shame about Hereford over the past couple of seasons. Hopefully they are rebuilding again for the future and can make a sustained march up the leagues."

We wish Luke all the best with his new career!
