Alfreton have increased admission prices at the Impact Arena substantially for next season.
After charging just £13 for entry during 2011/12, they will now charge £18 for the coming season with a club statement acknowledging that they are expected to compete on a level playing field with other sides charging similar amounts.
Season tickets for the part-time club are more expensive than at Edgar Street as a result of the rise. The Reds don't differentiate between terracing and seated tickets, so their £289 early bird price is as much as £55 more expensive than at Edgar Street.
Chairman Wayne Bradley told the club's official site: "We cannot be the cheapest admission fees on one of the
lowest attendances and have the best team. It just does not follow. To
ensure sustainable football at our level, we must greatly increase our
turnover from last year.
"Fans are expecting us to compete on a level
playing field with the likes of Mansfield Town who have an average
attendance of just under 2,700 paying £18 to get in."
Alfreton finished 15th in the Conference last season, averaging 1,063 through the gates.
